UT Seat Back Sales Details
Welcome to our biggest fundraiser of the year: UT Seatback Sales! WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need a minimum of 40 cadets and 15 adult volunteers per game. Due to the contract with UT & DKR-Memorial Stadium, we MUST have 15 adults to supervise both the collection and counting of money and the conduct of cadets.
Hutto AFJROTC will be working at each University of Texas home football game during football season. AFJROTC will manage game day portable seatback rentals for spectators. We will also staff several customer service booths around the stadium to assist season ticket holders who purchased permanently installed seatbacks. After enjoying the game FOR FREE, we gather and re-stack the seatbacks for the next game.
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER:
We are happy to welcome adult volunteers including parents, family, and friends. They will need to show their photo ID when they arrive. Cadets are also welcome to bring along family and friends who are under 18 with these restrictions: guests must be 12 or older, must work with their cadet or adult host, and MUST abide by Hutto ISD conduct and dress code requirements.
DRESS CODE:
Normal Hutto dress code limits apply. If it is not allowed at school, it is not allowed at UT Seatback Sales. PER DKR MEMORIAL STADIUM: ONLY Hutto or UT may be advertised on your clothing. NO OTHER SCHOOLS OR SPORTS TEAMS (professional, collegiate, or even sports other than football) will not be allowed by DKR.
Shirts:
For cadets: AFJROTC shirts are required. Grey PT shirts
For other volunteers: Hutto High and UT sports shirts are preferred! You may wear other shirts, but NO other sports teams than Hutto
Pants: Jeans, work pants, or sturdy shorts. We will be going up and down the sections carrying seats. Dress appropriately for work and the weather. No PT shorts, no cut-offs, no holes. Your shorts or pants NEED pockets!
Shoes: Closed-toe shoes WITH socks will be required. Heels are not allowed, tennis shoes are preferred.
Hats: recommended but not required. School & sports team rules apply.
WHAT TO BRING:
Bags: UT has a clear-bag policy for games, and they STRICTLY enforce it. Only one clear bag and one “Clutch” smaller than 4.5" x 6.5" Clear Bag Policy Details
Debit card for lunch. DKR Memorial stadium is COMPLETELY CASHLESS. Single use Visa-Cash cards are purchasable in the stadium but they sell out fast! Stadium food prices are high! Expect to pay $10 or more for lunch at the various fast-food locations, $5 or more for drinks. Water bottles will be provided to every volunteer, with free hydration re-fill stations throughout the stadium. You may choose instead to bring a sack lunch (in a clear bag!!!).
Sunscreen for all daytime games is recommended. As the weather gets colder, jackets and gloves may be needed. Look up the weather report the day of the game. PLEASE dress for the weather!
SCHEDULE (PLEASE CHECK INDIVIDUAL GAME SIGN-UP FOR DEPARTURE TIMES!!!!):
Meet at the JROTC building about 4 hours before kickoff. Usually, we will have a bus but occasionally we will need to carpool. A limited number of parking passes are available, first-come, first-serve
Leave the JROTC building 3.5 hours before kickoff. We must arrive at DKR Memorial Stadium Gate 25 and check-in 3 hours before kickoff. Volunteers arriving in their own transportation should enter the stadium at Gate 25, then meet with the group at the stairs immediately to the left of Gate 25.
You will be assigned to a work-station team for either seat-back sales or Customer Service Booths. An adult supervisor is required at each sales station and Customer Service Booth.
We sell seatbacks until 15 minutes after kick-off or until we sell out.
Customer Service Booths DO NOT close until the end of half-time. We are sorry about this, but this is a requirement of our contract. ONLY one adult supervisor needs to stay per booth.
Cadets and other volunteers are then free to watch the game after being released by their adult supervisor. Supervisors return credit readers to the Instructor. As soon as that is completed, supervisors may enjoy the game.
You may try to find an empty seat, but you must move if anyone claims the seat.
Volunteers CANNOT enter any of the boxed seating, Lounges, or Clubs and should not enter employee-only areas.
Volunteers are NOT allowed ON THE FIELD at any time (before, during, and after the game).
Volunteers are STRICTLY PROHIBITED from approaching Bevo. (UT Mascot)
Watch the time. At 5 minutes left on the clock, you should be back at your assigned sales location. Do not go to another sales location unless released by the adult working that location! Meet your team, then proceed to the top, the back row of your assigned seating section.
Wait for the game to end and spectators to begin to leave.
As spectators leave, we will begin gathering the rental seatbacks. Starting at the top of a section, move all seatbacks to the end of the row and stack them neatly. Moving from the top rows to bottom rows, gather seat-back stacks and move them to the bottom stadium entrance in the section. Once you have collected all the seatbacks, move them to your sales location and stack them NEATLY on pallets. There is an order to the pallets and cases, which makes them fit better. PLEASE ASK someone to show you the pattern!
Once you have finished each section move to the next clockwise stadium section and repeat.
If you are done with the sections assigned to your sales location, move on to help the next team.
Once all the seatbacks are gathered, stacked, and all sections have been double-checked, we may need to redistribute seats among the sales locations.
Volunteers will gather at the Gate 25 storage locker stairs for Roll Call. The team will return to Hutto High School after Roll Call. If you are not returning on the Hutto High bus for any reason, you MUST let the Instructor Supervisor or Parent Booster Leader know BEFORE you leave.
If you have questions about this or any other concerns, please call.
